Blender for 3D Asset Creation and Indie Production

Course Description
This course is designed to train learners in freelance-ready 3D modeling using Blender. It enables participants to produce optimized assets for games and product visualization while aligning with DIU’s modular skills-based learning strategy.

Course Objectives
This course aims to:
- Train learners in freelance-ready 3D modeling using Blender.
- Enable the production of optimized assets for games and product visualization.
Course Content & Class Plan (Modules)
- Session 1: Blender Interface Basics
- Session 2: Mesh Fundamentals
- Sessions 3–4: Product Modeling for Visualization (2 parts)
- Session 5: Game Asset Modeling Principles
- Session 6: UV Unwrapping Techniques
- Session 7: PBR Materials and Shader Setup
- Session 8: Lighting & Camera Setup
- Session 9: Optimization & Export
- Session 10: Final Showcase & Peer Review
Practical & Field Work
- Project Work: Includes a 3D Modeling Project, Material & Lighting Task, and Optimization & Export tasks.
- Showcase: Final Showcase, Peer Review, and portfolio submission.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Model production-ready 3D assets in Blender.
- Apply UV mapping and PBR workflows.
- Render and export optimized models.
- Build a project portfolio aligned with freelance platforms.

Entry Requirements
- Experience: Prior experience with any 3D software is helpful but not required; a basic understanding of polygonal modeling or design software is sufficient.
- Minimum Age: 17+ years (HSC / 12th grade equivalent).
