Course Description

This 6-day Basic Coaches' Course on Handball is designed to build a strong foundation in handball coaching by combining theory, sports science, and hands-on practice. The course equips participants with core knowledge of handball rules, fundamentals, and teaching methodology, as well as the scientific principles of sports training, conditioning, and recovery. Through structured daily evaluation and a capstone assessment, the course prepares aspiring coaches and instructors to confidently teach and organize grassroots handball training, and to qualify for advanced certification under the Bangladesh Handball Federation.

    Evidence of Demand

  • Bangladesh's handball ecosystem is expanding at a pace that current coaching infrastructure has not been able to match, creating a structural need for a foundational, university-anchored training pathway.

  • There is an existing national certification pathway via the Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF), but aspiring coaches currently have no structured foundational program to build prerequisite knowledge.

  • Current Bangladesh government policy mandates sports instruction across the education sector, creating direct employment demand for individuals with standardized sports coaching credentials in schools and colleges.

  • The continued expansion of private academies and club-based training centers is generating further demand for trainers with recognized credentials.

  • A recognized foundational and national certification in handball coaching strengthens students' eligibility and competitiveness for fully funded coaching diploma programs at European sports universities.
